Emma will be three weeks old on Monday. These last few weeks have been full of emotion, surprises, and absolutely no sleep. We couldn’t be happier with our little girl, even with the challenges that have come our way. I know we should be getting rest when she sleeps, but we spend most of our time just staring at her.
Since Emma was slightly jaundiced, our pediatrician has been asking us to come back for followups two to three times each week. It’s been a little stressful, but she is finally on the mend. Her skin color is more and more pale (like ours) each day. Poor girl! (But it’s a good thing.) And she’s finally gaining weight at a good rate. Yesterday, she weighed 6 pounds, 7 ounces, up from her lowest at 5 pounds, 11 ounces! She is really tiny and still wears premie clothes. And here I thought she was going to be bursting out of her cute little outfits you all have given us. She can’t even fit into most of them yet!
Even though we’re sleep deprived, we are so happy. Emma is amazing. We can’t wait for you all to meet her. Until then, check out some of the photos of Emma we’ve taken so far.
