On Saturday, the 29th of July, 2006, at 5pm in the evening, we tied the knot and celebrated our love for each other with close friends and family. We prepared this section of our site especially for you, our invited guests.
Ceremony – Presidio Main Post Chapel
Our ceremony was held on July 29, 2006 in the Main Post Chapel in San Francisco’s historic Presidio National Park. The Chapel was built in 1931 in the Spanish Colonial Revival style. It was originally restricted to military personnel when the Presidio was home to the U.S. 6th Army. The Chapel is now cared for and operated by the Interfaith Center at the Presidio, a nonprofit organization devoted to interfaith dialogue, collaboration, education, friendship and service. Thank you to everyone who made our day so special.
Reception – Golden Gate Club
Our reception immediately followed the ceremony, and took place at the Golden Gate Club, also in the Presidio. Hors d’oeuvres and a full buffet dinner was served at the reception. We have reports that every guest thoroughly enjoyed the entire day, and we couldn’t be happier about that, because we (the Bride and Groom) had a blast too. We’re a little biased, but we thought it was the best, most fun, and most beautiful wedding we’ve ever attended.
The Golden Gate Club is located in a tranquil forest grove overlooking San Francisco Bay, only about 40 yards away from the Chapel. The Golden Gate Club was originally dedicated in 1949 as a first-class service club for enlisted men and women and was the site of several historic treaty signings during the early days of the Korean War.
We chose these venues because we love the Presidio and its gorgeous views of the Bay, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and downtown San Francisco. A majority of the Presidio is a very tranquil location that provides respite from the rush and bustle of the City. We had many guests coming from all over the country, some who had never been to San Francisco. So we thought these two venues would provide a great feel for the City by the Bay.
